Backlight Keypads & Control Panels
Keyboard illumination, either totally or partially, is in many applications, a critical element of the overall design of the panel. In low ambient light environments, the entire keyboard may need to be illuminated, or else selective illumination can be used to emphasise specific areas of the keyboard. For example, the user can be guided to press particular keys in sequence. Alternatively, "secret-until-lit" legends can be used to confirm actions or instruct.
Lighting Control Panels from IGT
IGT has pioneered an innovative method of combining illumination and tactile response in the same key using low voltage point light sources combined with light guides integrated into the structure of the control panel.
In applications with specific illumination requirements such as aviation and marine uses, precise control of panel illumination over a very wide range to allow for differing ambient lighting levels is extremely important.
