Siemens backs business investment in Eastleigh Siemens Mobility is backing investment in its supply chain for control and communication systems when Supply Chain Director, Gary Winstanley, opened a new state of the art design centre at IGT Industries Ltd. The centre is the first phase of a £250,000 investment programme for IGT in its production and manufacturing base in Eastleigh, Hampshire, which specialises in control panels and touch screens assemblies for the electronics industry. Manufacturing facilities are also being upgraded with the addition of new printing systems, UV curing equipment and new laser cutting systems for faster response and delivery to customers. Utilising the latest cutting-edge technology including capacitive switching, IGT can design and manufacture a part or complete control panel system integrating displays, glide pads, joysticks and electronic components tailored to its customers' requirements.
He added: "Siemens Mobility is a long standing customer and we are delighted to recognise our partnership with the opening of this new centre." Gary Winstanley, Supply Chain Director, Siemens Mobility Division said: "We are delighted to continue to develop our already excellent relationship with one of our key suppliers. The new design centre represents an exciting investment for the future for IGT."
IGT has been a preferred supply partner to Siemens Mobility since 2002, designing and manufacturing key control panel components for its traffic light systems and, most recently, the GSM-R train driver cab communication system which is being rolled out by Network Rail in the UK and other European rail operators.
